“I have nothing but praise for both Dr. Weigel and the entire staff of Heartland Orthopedic Specialists. I have been a patient for my feet, both shoulders for rotator cuff surgery, and my most recent a total knee replacement, which I am in the process of recovering from. It is great to have this kind of facility in Alexandria and to have the great doctors here to handle all of the issues that can come up.”

“Doctor has always given me his educated options, and I have never felt pressured into surgery.  He also discouraged me from surgery once when he thought it was not needed.  Had me try another option and it worked well.  Also have had surgery on my feet by another doctor at Heartland Orthopedic Specialists, and he was very good, and I got a good result.”

“I saw Dr. Dudley in May, and it was determined that I needed trigger finger release surgery for BOTH of my thumbs. The staff in Alexandria was very helpful for me to determine if I should do both surgeries at once considering my high deductible insurance. I opted to do both at the same time, and I was very glad that I did, the surgeries took care of the problem, and I was glad to have my recuperating time cut in half by taking care of both hands at one time. Little did I know that I would have ANOTHER trigger finger! So, back I went, and I just had the third surgery now in November. I was able to get my surgery scheduled quickly and make the follow-up appointments before we leave for Florida in January.”

“We followed Dr. Andrews from Fergus Falls. He has provided both my husband and myself with the best medical care we could ask for. In addition, he is very, very pleasant to deal with, and listens to our questions and concerns. I have also seen physician assistant Jared McLister several times for a broken wrist and arthritis issues. He is the very best too. He is so pleasant to deal with, and as with Dr. Andrews, he really listens to our questions and concerns, and definitely knows what he's doing.  Dr. Andrews did wonders for my husband's back when we were in Fergus Falls, and his diagnosis regarding my wrist issues. Jared has always treated my pains, and made them go away. We highly recommend Dr. Andrews, Jared, and Heartland Orthopedic Specialists.”

“I am a 66-year-old female who participates in Community Theater almost every summer. This summer, our group presented "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer," the musical. The set was a group of platforms, which were variously used as homes, part of the courthouse, levels in the caves, etc. On the first night of production, I tried something I had NEVER done before, and took a short cut between platforms, and had to get rid of an apron. Holding it in my hands, I obscured the reflective tape on a 4' platform and proceeded to take one step too many in the dark! Hairline fracture. Our local clinic wanted me to wear a "half" cast for four to five weeks. After ten days, I was encouraged to seek a second opinion, and went to Heartland Orthopedic Specialists. Because orthopedics is their specialty, their personnel were professional and so knowledgeable. They did not challenge the diagnosis of my local clinic, but suggested that the cast would not be effective long term. I was allowed to dispense with the cast. When I returned for follow up, x-rays showed that the fracture was healing and I was allowed to start adding weight. That was it. I went to a physical therapist. He said that my range of motion was at least 98%, and that it would not be any more effective to use their services. I feel that Heartland Orthopedic Specialists was instrumental in getting me out of the cast and into a normal range of motion sooner than I had expected. As much as a medical procedure can be enjoyable, my experience with Heartland Orthopedic Specialists was! THANKS!”

“I had a great experience with Dr. Weigel and staff. I had a ruptured distal bicep on March 30th, and opted to have surgery done the first week in April. Everything went flawlessly from start to finish. I am now 4 and 1/2 months removed from the procedure, and am at 95-100% recuperated. Everyone involved was very professional, and I would grade my experience an A+. Thanks for the great care!”
