Heartland Orthopedic Specialists, Andrea Allyn, M.B.A., L.A.T., Highlighted in National Publication

Heartland Orthopedic Specialists and its clinic and sports medicine director, Andrea Allyn, M.B.A., L.A.T., were recently recognized in the national industry publication Becker’s Spine Review. Listed in two compilations of leaders in orthopedics, the regionally preferred practice was noted for its exemplary joint replacement service and Allyn’s leadership in sports medicine. On Jan. 3, Heartland Orthopedic Specialists was listed in “25 Orthopedic Practices To Know in 2023.” The practice was reported as having a national and local reputation for its joint replacement program. On Jan. 24, director Allyn was listed in “10 Sports Medicine Leaders To Know.” Allyn was cited for her skill in health care management, strategic planning and clinic research.

The Joint Replacement Center at Alomere Health is part of the joint replacement program at Heartland Orthopedic Specialists. Alomere Health and Heartland Orthopedic Specialists partner together to provide hip and knee replacement and revision, partial knee replacement, shoulder replacement and ankle replacement. Heartland Orthopedic Specialists/Alomere Health is the only joint replacement center in the region that is a member of the American Joint Replacement Registry. By participating in this gold-standard registry, the organization submits and analyzes data as well as actively utilizes the knowledge gained to provide the highest quality orthopedic care to its patients.

Allyn is a native of Alexandria and began her athletic training career during a mentorship with Dr. Jefferson Brand and Alexandria Orthopedics while also shadowing in the Jefferson High School athletic training room. She received her degree in athletic training from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2006, and she joined Heartland Orthopedic Specialists as a certified athletic trainer the same year. She completed her Master of Business Administration degree in health care from the University of St. Thomas in 2012. As clinic and sports medicine director, she has a variety of responsibilities, including oversight of the sports medicine program and daily operations of the clinic and physical therapy department.
