Duane Malo is a certified athletic trainer, certified strength and conditioning specialist, as well as a certified personal trainer, and a USA Triathlon certified coach. Duane attended Saint Cloud State University where he obtained a bachelors’ degree in biology with an emphasis in physiology and a minor in athletic training. He served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for the Saint Cloud State Division 1 hockey team while he worked on his master's degree in exercise science. Duane then moved to Chicago where he worked as a clinical and outreach athletic trainer for over 5 years. After working 2 years for a medical technology company, Duane ran his own sports, health, and fitness business for 15 years working with post-rehabilitation exercise programs, youth sports performance, personal fitness training, and senior fitness programs.
When not spending time with his family, he enjoys running, biking, and swimming and has competed in numerous triathlons including national competitions. He has also participated in many sports going back to college including track, cross-country, and wrestling. He has competed in martial arts, bodybuilding, marathon running, and triathlon.
Duane is originally from the small town of Hancock, Minnesota, and after over 20 years in Chicago is happy to be returning to Minnesota and working for Heartland Orthopedics Specialists at Alomere Health. He is bringing his wife Hazel, and two children, Kayla and Brandon, and they are excited to join the Alexandria community!
