Sauk Centre High School
Kelly graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in athletic training, after which she obtained her board of certification as a certified athletic trainer. Following graduation, Kelly attended graduate school at North Dakota State University where she obtained her Master’s degree in Advanced Athletic Training. While in school at North Dakota State University, she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with the track and field and women’s soccer teams.
Following her education, Kelly worked for the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls, MN for 1 year serving as the head athletic trainer for the Redwood Area High School and Middle School. She also assisted with the summer strength and conditioning programs for the athletes by adding an injury prevention component.
Kelly joined our staff in 2016. In the clinic she serves as a physician extender, where she works side by side with Dr. Andrews providing care to patients. This has allowed her to expand her knowledge of human anatomy, evaluation techniques, surgical procedures and post operative care. Additional clinic responsibilities include brace fitting, applying casts, assisting Dr. Andrews with procedures, and phone triage.
Outside of the clinic, Kelly provides athletic training coverage for Sauk Centre High School. Kelly enjoys getting to know the athletes, providing pre-practice/game preparation, providing game coverage, and returning an athlete to full participation. Kelly’s favorite part of being an athletic trainer is seeing an athlete realize they have finally returned to one hundred percent following their injury.
In her free time, Kelly enjoys spending time with family and friends. She appreciates watching and playing sports, her favorites being basketball, volleyball, and softball. She also loves spending as much time in nature at possible whether it be hiking, camping, fishing or hunting. Kelly is originally from Sanborn, MN but currently lives in Alexandria, MN.
