Athletic Trainer, Orthopaedic Spine Technician
Alyssa is a Wisconsin native, graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2014. After which she stayed to complete a graduate assistantship with Chippewa Valley Orthopedics, providing coverage to North High School, and assisting Kinesiology professors at the university. She was also fortunate enough to work alongside and assist medical staff at OakLeaf Concussion Services. All the while completing her Master of Science in Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Rehabilitation through California University of Pennsylvania in 2016. Alyssa has worked with all types of athletes from the weekend warrior, squirt hockey, and semi-pro football in the Chippewa Valley. She is excited to bring her skills and passion for athletic training to the Alexandria area.
Alyssa joined our staff in 2017, where she serves as a physician extender for our orthopedic spine team. Working side-by-side with Dr. Andrews and Dr. Lindley allows her to expand on evaluation techniques, surgical procedures, and post-surgical care. Outside of clinic, she also assists in providing athletic training coverage for area high schools. She is passionate about injury prevention and corrective exercise techniques.
Alyssa's certifications include: Certified Athletic Trainer, American Heart Association-CPR for the Healthcare Provider, and Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is a big outdoor enthusiast, summers are spent biking, hiking, camping, canoeing, and fishing. Come fall she is sighting in her bow for deer hunting. In the winter you'll find her snow shoeing or downhill skiing.
