2021 Summer Group PEAK Classes

Weight Training Essentials (June 7, 2021 – July 2, 2021)
Weight Training Essentials will utilize barbells and dumbbells to build a weightlifting foundation. Proper lifting techniques will be taught and reinforced. We will also cover the concepts of intensity and volume for strength, hypertrophy, and muscle endurance.

Schedule – Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Powerlifting for Strength (July 12, 2021 – July 30, 2021)
Powerlifting Movements: Squats, Deadlifts, and Bench Press have long been used in training for building total-body strength needed for optimal sports performance. Proper lifting techniques will be reinforced, as well as establishing appropriate training loads.

Schedule – Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Olympic Weightlifting for Sports Performance (August 2, 2021 – August 20, 2021)
Olympic weightlifting movements are the best for developing explosive power and speed. However, Olympic lifting movements are more complex therefore the movements are taught in stages to ensure proper form. By the end of this module, the athlete should be able to perform the Clean, Jerk, and Snatch.

Schedule – Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Advanced Resistance Training Techniques (August 23, 2021 – September 3, 2021)
Want to learn resistance training techniques beyond traditional weightlifting movements? This course covers resistance training using kettlebells, medicine balls, weighted sleds, bands, body weight, and creative uses of traditional equipment for untraditional movements.

Schedule – Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

PEAK Circuit Training
Includes injury prevention exercises, age-appropriate strengthening, speed and agility training, as well as balance and stability exercises.

 
Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 a.m.: 11 – 13-year-old girls
Tuesday & Thursday 9:00 a.m.: 11 – 13-year-old boys
Tuesday & Thursday 10:00 a.m.:  14 – 15-year-old girls

PEAK Performance Room at NorthStar Sports Complex. Ages 16 & up only.
Open gym hours Monday - Friday, 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. and Tuesday & Thursday, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
