My Comeback Story: Kelly M.

Knowing What You're Looking For

I went to Heartland Orthopaedics after doctoring for three years. During that time, I had two surgeries that didn’t fix my issue. It was implied that whatever the issue was, it was localized to that spot.

After completing the imaging Dr. Lindley recommended, it was determined that I had degenerative disc disease and that the problem wasn’t localized. His recommendation was to remove my injured disc and replace it with a synthetic one instead of doing a fusion. He explained that it was a relatively new procedure in the U.S., but that it had been used successfully in Europe for quite a while.

I decided to have the disc replacement. Eight years later, my neck still feels amazing. Thanks to the synthetic disc, I retained both the cushioning and my range of motion.

The team at Heartland Orthopaedics ended my three-year search for an answer about my neck. I had gotten to the point where I was even doubting myself and wondering if there really was an issue.

Thank you so much for giving me my life back.
