My Comeback Story: Bart H.

My Name is Not I-Lean

Due to my bone-on-bone, arthritis-filled knee joint, my right knee was bent more than an old bronco buster, and it was easy to spot me based on how I walked (or tried to). When the pain became too much to handle, I went in for an MRI, which only confirmed that my knee was shot. After consulting with Dr. Weigel, we proceeded with a knee replacement.

After tackling the pre- and post-surgery work and preparation with a competitive resolve, my knee is now sound and so is my spirit. My daily walks with my wife, along with bike riding and hiking, were no longer an adventure in how long I could endure, but how much more we could do together.

It has been about 18 months since my surgery, and I’ve had no complications and no regrets.
